Your Most Important Relationship
I’ve been asked to deal with relationships. It doesn’t matter if we’re battling with co-workers, our children, your husband, mother, brother, sister, it doesn’t matter.
The first step in healing any relationship is seeing how God wants us to deal with, respond and react in this troubled relationship. And we must use Jesus as our example, as hard as it can be to follow His examples, He does ask us to try.
Secondly, we must read His word on a regular basis, pray on a regular basis. By doing this, you are doing your part in developing a relationship with Christ and grow closer to Him. In any relationship, if we don’t talk to that person for a long time, we lose touch, we’re not as close as we used to be. The same holds true in our relationship with Christ.
So in order to help us in other relationships, I want us to first focus on our relationship with Christ. I encourage you to read His word this week, even a small verse or two. Pray before reading that verse. Bring your requests, your desires and your thankfulness to God and ask Him to teach you in whatever scripture you are reading that day.
If you’re not able to read from your bible this week, do yourself a favor and pray at least three times this week. You can pray anywhere. In the car, just before lunch, anywhere. We need to work on our relationship with God, so we can understand Him better, allowing us to see much more clearly how God would have us handle situations and relatioinships. Because He does speak to us in many ways.
If you do this and you see some positive things happen this week, please let us know, it is so encouraging to see how God works when we just try.
