Criticism in the Marriage

Criticism is so harmful that it's like a computer virus. Once it's in your home it tends to spread into every area infecting the whole house! Your children will pick up on it and no one will feel good about themselves or encouraged. Is that the kind of home you want? I've also seen husbands and wives who are critical of each other in front of others. It breaks my heart because I can see what that does to them as the emotions are written all over that person?s face. It?s one thing to be critical in your own home (and that's something that should be worked on) but when a spouse is critical to the other in public; the damage done to the individual and the marriage tends to go deeper because of the humiliation involved. You need to keep your grievances behind closed doors and from there, pledge to put a stop to criticism for good!

No marriage is perfect and we all have areas we need to work on. But those methods should include gentleness, patience, honesty, openness, encouragement, and prayer. If you really want some things to change in your marriage, then you need to work together on them and support one another. Don?t drag each other down with verbal darts but instead lift up and inspire change by believing in one another.

No one enjoys being criticized or feeling like they don?t measure up to someone else?s expectations of them. So if you don?t like feeling that way, don?t do it to the one you love the most.
